Berikut adalah komposisi dari beberapa buffer (larutan penyangga) yang sering digunakan untuk riset bioteknologi. Buffer-buffer tersebut adalah:
1. 10x TAE Buffer (Tris: 48.4 g/L, Glacial acetic acid: 11.42 mL/L, 0.5 M EDTA: 20 mL/L).
2. 10x TBE Buffer (Tris : 105 g/L, Boric acid : 55 g/L, EDTA-disodium salt : 9.3 g/L).
3. TBS (Tris Buffer Saline) (Tris : 6.06 g/L, NaCl : 8.77 g/L, NaN3 : 1 g/L.
4. TE Buffer (10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0), 1 mM EDTA); atau Tris : 1.21 g/L, EDTA-disodium salt : 0.37 g/L, terus Adjust to pH 8.0 with HCl, sterilized by autoclaving.
5. SM Buffer (phage diluting buffer) (NaCl : 5.8 g/L, MgSO4.7H2O : 2 g/L, Tris : 6.05 g/L, 2 % gelatin : 5 mL (0.1 g/L)). Adjust to pH 7.5 with HCl, sterilized by autoclaving.
6. STE Buffer (10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0), 1 mM EDTA, 0.1 M NaCl).
7. 10X Super Duper Buffer (SDB), restriction enzyme buffer (for 100 mL): (330 mM Tris-Acetate (pH 7.8), 625 mM K-Acetate, 100 mM Mg-Acetate, 40 mM Supernidine Spermidine, 5 mM DDT).
8. PEG/ NaCl Solution. Solution ini digunakan untuk purifikasi DNA yang digunakan untuk persiapan sequencing. For 100 mL (Polyethylene glycol 6000 : 20 g, NaCl : 11.7 g, dissolved in 75 mL of SM Buffer and adjust the pH to 7.5, mess up to 100 mL with SM buffer autoclaved). Atau 20 % PEG 6000, 25 M NaCl.
9. PBS Buffer (40 mM K-Pi buffer (pH 7.5), 0.1 % (w/v) NaN3, 0.15 M NaCl). Autoclave. Note: 1 M K-Pi Buffer : 40 ml/L (NaN3 : 1 g/L, NaCl : 8.87 g/L).
10. PBS – SKIM MILK (0.5%) (1 g skim milk/ 200 mL PBS).
